Jamaica is still in the pursuit of reparations for slavery, the effects of which are still being felt in the country. According to the Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia “Babsy” Grange, it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that reparations are paid for what their ancestors went through under slavery. Brilliant Minds Collective explores the assistance and support or lack thereof, Jamaica is receiving from the African Diaspora. and why this support is politically and economically urgent.
