Lara Haehle works as a communications and brand strategist, working with diverse local, regional, and global companies. During college, leadership positions in student radio and the college paper led to being scouted and hired by Sony Music to help elevate their emerging artists, including Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam, Allison Moyet, Alice in Chains, Fugees, and others, and she was named Rookie Rep of the Year. During that decade, she also worked in programming at X96 KXRK radio, started a successful co-op program as Marketing Director for Utah’s largest independent record store chain, Graywhale CD Exchange, and became the Salt Lake City Weekly’s first Promotion and Marketing Manager.
Throughout this time, she was Co-Chair of the board of a coalition of national non-profit organizations, UPNet, which primarily championed transparency in money in politics, publishing one of the nation’s first comprehensive list of local political donors. She also wrote for music magazines, including cover stories for Salt Lake Underground, Diesel, and Grid Magazine, as well as publishing an in-store record zine.
A career transition led to marketing and product management positions for communications companies including Sprint and CenturyLink. After a move to Oregon, she began working as PR and marketing manager, copywriter, content and communications strategist for established Portland digital agencies, as well as a leadership and content contribution position with influencer group Thoroughly Modern Marketing. She currently operates independent agency LH Prolific, and gets a kick out of a good turn of phrase, compelling narratives and storytelling, and integrated content marketing strategies.
