Jason E. Foy is a founding partner of Foy & Seplowitz, LLC, which is exclusivelycommitted to the professional and rigorous representation of those accused of serious crimes at the State and Federal levels in both New York and New Jersey. Foy is a skilled trial lawyer who has tried many serious felonies against the States of New Jersey and New York, as well as the United States of America. Foy has been selected by the NJ Super Lawyers for past seven years as an attorney who has achieved a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement in the area of criminal law.
Prior to entering private practice, Foy prosecuted crimes while serving as an Assistant District Attorney with the Bronx District Attorney’s Office. It was while with the Bronx District Attorney’s Office that he laid the foundation to become a successful trial lawyer.
Foy also has made a long–term commitment to serve the legal profession through hismany years of active membership to various bar associations. Foy is an active Life member of the Garden State Bar Association (GSBA is the Statewide association dedicated to the interests of African American Attorneys in New Jersey), where he serves as a GSBA delegate on the New Jersey Supreme Court Criminal Practice Committee, and he serves on the Association of Black Women Lawyers/GSBA Joint Judicial/Prosecutorial Appointment Committee (JPAC). He is also an active member of the Bergen County Bar Association, where he was installed as its 124th President this past April and serves as co-chair of the Bergen County JPAC Foy is the first Black attorney and lawyer of color to be elected president of the Bergen County Bar Association. Foy is also an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA), where he serves as its delegate on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement. Foy has also been a leader and key contributor on the NJSBA Working Group for Jury Selection Reform.
Foy earned his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore, Maryland. He also earned his B.A. in Political Science from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY. Foy is also a brother and Life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
